For many people, the words ‘dream job’ and ‘gym’ don’t belong in the same sentence.
But we definitely might enjoy the gym a bit more if we were getting paid to be there.
If you need extra motivation for your New Year’s resolution, then the new role advertised by PureGym might be just what you need.
The national gym chain is looking for two Gym Testers, who will be able to give them in-depth and brutally honest feedback on what it’s like to use PureGym as a new member.
Each Gym Tester will be given £300 to go to a PureGym near them, try it out, and provide their insights to the company that will then be used to improve their gyms, and the experience of all gym-goers.
In addition to getting paid £300, the Gym Tester will be given a six-month PureGym Plus membership for free – this includes classes, bringing a guest with you four times a month, and accessing other PureGym locations at no extra cost.
The role is flexible and you can choose to visit the gym for your feedback session at any time and date.
Previous research by PureGym found that 50% of non-gym members find the idea of visiting the gym scary, and 1 in 3 (39%) gym users have cancelled their membership due to a lack of confidence using the facilities.
PureGym is aiming to improve the gym experience for people who aren’t necessarily ‘gym people’, so they are asking for applicants who have little to no experience.
Applicants should not have had a gym membership before, or have had a membership but didn’t use it. A desirable but not essential trait of the successful candidate is being nervous about visiting the gym, for whatever reason.
The opportunity is open to anyone in the UK, and the successful applicant will be required to visit the gym a minimum of eight times in their month-long role, and try at least two classes.
The Gym Tester will then have to write a short roundup of their experience, including what they enjoyed most and what improvements could be made, which may be published to the PureGym blog.
